Missed Free Throw
 

Ok vetern officials. Help me out! What's the HS ruling on an intentionally missed free throw? Shooter has to at least make an "attempt?" Or as long as it hits the rim we're all good? I'm a rookie, so go easy on me.

If it hits the rim, you play on. If it misses, the violation is for missing the rim, not for intentionally missing the shot.

The only requirement for a FT shooter as it relates to a missed FT is to hit the rim and stay behind the line up until the ball hits the rim. Nothing in the rules that states anything is illegal if the attempt is to miss the FT on purpose.
