T-Mobile NFHS Invitational - Seattle Washington

http://www.tmobileinvitational.net/default.htm

Just got a call from my assignor to work either the consolation or the championship game at the University of Washington. It's the first ever T-Mobile NFHS Invitational tournament.

If Issaquah HS is in the championsion game them I will work the consolation game. Otherwise I will work the championship game with two of my fellow officials from Seattle.

I am excited and honored to be able to do something like this.

Merry Early Christmas.

I tuned in to watch the O'Dea/Fairfax game (it's on the "VS" network). Appears they are behind schedule and there is a Girls' game going on right now.

Ok, now the O'Dea/Fairfax games is being played? Anybody familiar with any of the refs?

O'Dea (Seattle) is coached by a guy named Phil Lumpkin who played in the NBA. One of his players is the son of James Edwards of the Detroit Bad Boy fame. Fairfax (Los Angeles) has the son of Harold Pressley (Villanova/Sacramento Kings).

BTW, the announcers said they will be broadcasting all 4 games Thursday.

I won't be able to watch any of the games, but I saw Ron's picture in Referee this month. Too bad he was turned away from the camera. :)

I have a buddy who live across the street from Collin's Hill HS and another buddy who helps coach with their boys team so I get to hear alot about their teams. They've had alot of success for a relatively new school. There seems to be alot of good HS basketball in the Atlanta area.

WE are ALL excited for you! Congratulations! I know I am a little envious. I am sure you will enjoy it greatly and best wishes for an amazing opportunity! Watched a little of the Fairfax/O'Dea game on cable last night. Saw a couple of interesting mechanics, but other than that, the officials looked good.

I just watched part of the Issaquah girls game against Winter Haven. Was that Ron's game? I didn't hear if it was the championship or consolation game! I'll have to keep watching, I guess.

Hey Ron...
Let us know how your game went. I'm sure you represented your association well...you were a class act when I had the good fortune to talk to you at the 4A State Tourney in Tacoma, WA a couple years ago.
