Is Your Weather as Nice as Mine?

It's been freezing rain all day and sleet is still hitting the windows, the temperature's still dropping and we're supposed to get a minimum of 5" and maybe up to 12" - of snow in this part of the state tonight. Are you having as much fun tonight as I am?

It was just rain here today. I ended up having my game (just got back), but my brother didn't have his ()....go figure on that one!! Get this, he was scheduled to be at Effingham HS and they were playing St. Anthony (right across town -- i.e. located in the same town). His got cancelled and mine at St. Anthony was a go. I understand their concern, however I think everyone hit the panic button too quick. Oh well... better safe than sorry!

Move to the Chicago area. My games went on last night and the roads were completely clear as if it had snowed several days ago. It also helped that both teams were only a few blocks away. Many schools in the direct area that I live were closed on Friday. I guess I lucked out.

Peace

It's a different tune here today. Snow and ice.... there probably won't be many games tonight, as the roads are already bad.

ALL High School basketball games were cancelled on Thursday! The only game that was played in the area was the Blues hockey game. They had about 6000 loyal fans. Over 300,000 home w/o electricity. Over 400 schools closed on Friday. Roads are still crappy. I do not think there are going to be many games played today.

Wink

All of our games here in Oregon occur during our annual rain festival, which runs from January through December each year.

Keep on saying that. Pacific Northwest people keep on saying this lie so that nobody else will realize that it's a great place to live.

Reminds me of what some folks say about Minnesota: that they've got July 15 and winter.
