Is Your Weather as Nice as Mine?

It's been freezing rain all day and sleet is still hitting the windows, the temperature's still dropping and we're supposed to get a minimum of 5" and maybe up to 12" - of snow in this part of the state tonight. Are you having as much fun tonight as I am?:(

Scrapper1 Thu Nov 30, 2006 09:36pm

It's that #&$*!@#! global warming again.

Where are you located anyway?

It's doing the same in St. Louis. And I have to park my car outside:mad:

tjones1 Thu Nov 30, 2006 09:42pm

It was just rain here today. I ended up having my game (just got back), but my brother didn't have his ()....go figure on that one!! Get this, he was scheduled to be at Effingham HS and they were playing St. Anthony (right across town -- i.e. located in the same town). His got cancelled and mine at St. Anthony was a go. I understand their concern, however I think everyone hit the panic button too quick. Oh well... better safe than sorry! :)

You've been warned about global warming but you didn't listen. Now you get to experience the effects! ;)

My wife, a doctor acquaintance, and I were talking today. The doctor complained about how cold it was and my wife agreed. At the time it was 72 degree with 10-15 kt winds.

A girls HS softball game was played at the school across the street from my home today. Most of the kids were in long sleeves...they were cold.

Man do you get spoiled in Honolulu. Sorry...

I don't know if I've been around long enough to say it but here it goes anyways...

Shut Up.

Well, you speak for all of us. In fact, you probably should have made it bigger and bolded it!! I'm glad you didn't add any four-letter embellishments, though. Then it would have just been edited.

How come when I wrote it, Bob deleted it?

I really did write it in the spirit of good fun. :D

Yep, and the rain started just as I walked into the office (Alexandria). Knew it was going to be a crappy day when it took me 1 hour & 45 minutes for the commute that is usually 50 minutes (on a bad day). 4 accidents and 1 of them was a car on its roof 1/2 mile from work. Took 30 minutes just to clear that accident.

It's a different tune here today. Snow and ice.... there probably won't be many games tonight, as the roads are already bad.

ALL High School basketball games were cancelled on Thursday! The only game that was played in the area was the Blues hockey game. They had about 6000 loyal fans. Over 300,000 home w/o electricity. Over 400 schools closed on Friday. Roads are still crappy. I do not think there are going to be many games played today.

Good point. I'm a Blues' fan, but it's been hard to watch them with my basketball schedule and then when I do have time, it's even harder to actually watch them! ;)

MAn, what is with you people. We woke up this morning to 8 inches of fresh new snow, and guess what. We all got up and came to work. Schools are open. Games are on. The snow plows are running. People are shoveling their driveways. And NO ONE'S COMPLAINING!!!!

Gotta love Alaska.

Move to the Chicago area. My games went on last night and the roads were completely clear as if it had snowed several days ago. It also helped that both teams were only a few blocks away. Many schools in the direct area that I live were closed on Friday. I guess I lucked out.

Peace

refnrev Sat Dec 02, 2006 05:10pm

No thanks, I think I'll stay downstate.

All of our games here in Oregon occur during our annual rain festival, which runs from January through December each year. ;)

Keep on saying that. Pacific Northwest people keep on saying this lie so that nobody else will realize that it's a great place to live.;)

We had a very popular governor, Tom McCall, who promoted the motto: "Oregon, please come visit but don't stay".

Actually, our favorite bumper sticker here is "Don't Californicate Oregon". :D

Reminds me of what some folks say about Minnesota: that they've got July 15 and winter.

jallen Sun Dec 03, 2006 09:45pm

you guys have it warm

It is -25C here today and snowing. Finished my game today and exited the gym to get a blast of winter. On top of that I was home before the car warmed up.

Bad Zebra Sun Dec 03, 2006 09:50pm

Still have the air conditioning on in the house...Sorry! (not really!):D

Wasn't that bad.

9 of those were freebies to family members.
