Reestablishing feet or only a foot??

I believe I read on here once that if a player is out of bounds then they are able to touch the ball again as long as they have one foot back in bounds and the other foot no longer touching out of bounds. Is this correct?

ex: A1 misses a layup and his/her momentum takes him/her OOB. The rebound is batted right back towards A1. At the moment the ball is batted, A1 is standing one foot in bounds, one foot out of bounds. A1 may legally touch the ball after doing what?
