Compression shorts
 

I wear compression shorts when I ref and play basketball. When I was getting ready to play some pick up games this morning, I wondered if compression shorts must be white or the primary color of the uniform, just like headbands and wristbands.

Any thoughts?

There is no color constraint on compression shorts. They must not extend below the shorts, however.

The exception is referring to compression shorts that extend below the uniform shorts. Compression shorts that do not extend below the uniform shorts follow the same guidelines as other undergarments. The exception is not to specify that compression shorts have to be the same color as the uniform, it is to specify that they are permitted to extend below the shorts (but not below the knee) if they are the same color as the shorts.

I thought compression shorts weren't allowed below the shorts at all. I'm so confused...and my books are in the car. Guess I'll have to bring then in at lunchtime...

Compression shorts are an exception to the rule(3-5-6) that states that "undergarments or tights shall not extend below the pants/skirt". The exception says that compression shorts may extend below the shorts as long as they are the same color as the shorts and they stop above the knee.

I wear black compression shorts which are the same color as my ref pants.

They don't hang out either! :D

And I'm certainly not checking what color they are, either! :eek:
