Defence of assignment.
I agree the assign ment is pretty lame, but its what you have to do. I completely agree that officials shouldnt be in it for the money, if they wanted that they should go be a doctor or trial lawyer. Contributing to the sport should much more be the goal.
And they teach that in class. But since its a college class they need some work for people to do and this is one of the things along with watching games (at least 10) and seeing how the offcials cover it (posistioning,signaling, comunication, aperance ect ect) and interviewing some one who has ref'ed at at least high school level for several years. This class isnt to give in depth looks for a sport (it covers 5-6) less in depth so studying rules isnt the main factor.
I feel Im justified.
