Maybe the biggest a-hole in the history of youth sports...

Just read this. It's hard to shock me, but I was utterly dumfounded.

Nah, not even close.

There was a report a while ago of a LL coach paying some kid to bean a team mate during practice so he wouldn't have to play him in "the big game"

To top it off, turns out the kid who got beaned was developmentally challenged.

This happened in a bordering county to where I live. He was sentenced to 1-6 years in prison.

The second guy wins and should be up for a life time award, and eliminated from the Gene Pool

the first guy is just an A$$ and the parents should get rid of him.

Well that's good news.

I hope they put him in a cell with a 275 lb monster who is just looking for a good woman to share his prison time with...you know, tidy up the cell, run errands, that sort of stuff.

The board tried to get him to change his mind? Why didn't they just fire his @ss and re-hire the coaches?

Because he owned the youth club and the board of the league has no jursidiction over the youth club in this matter. Atleast that's how i understand it.

So... it's his ball and he'll go home if he gets mad.

Seems to me the teams ought to reorganize under another league's umbrella and leave him holding his ball with no one to play with.

What a jerk! Even the kid quoted in the article has better perspective than the adult.

This sounds like something that belongs in Rick Reilly's column in Sports Illustrated. I am at a loss for words.

Update

9. The South County (Va.) Raptors football team was disqualified from the playoffs after the league commissioner fired the team's coach. The coach's offense? Shifting the commissioner's son from defense to offense for a game. "I own the league," the commissioner reportedly said, and "the entire league exists so he can play defense."
The commissioner offered to hire another coach so the team could compete in the playoffs, but the kids rejected the offer. According to 13-year-old linebacker Michael Holland, the fired coach "is nice. He listens." The commissioner subsequently backed down, rehiring the coach (and his staff) for the playoffs.
