Business Cards

Just curious...... Do any of you use business cards for your officiating avocation? I've seen a few articles that suggest leaving some sort of card when the scorebook is signed. I'm thinking about having some made up. Veterans, I'd be interested in reading your opinions. Thanks.

I do have business cards. Early in my career I would leave them
in the dressing room for officials in hopes that the custodian would
not get them and throw it away. I would want the coach, athletic director,
or someone with the home team to pick them up and see that they got
to the proper person. Not sure that really worked.
Today I have cards with my credentials on them that I hand out when
asked for them or at the appropriate time/place. Good idea to have
email address on them as most assigners utilize that tool.

I have buisness cards. But I would never think about leaving them at the scorer's table. I sign the book with my name and ID number -- that's all the information they need!

I can see it now, if I would leave my cards there, it certainly has a good chance of falling into the wrong hands. The next thing I know, I've got Sally calling my cell phone and asking why little Johnny got fouled and I didn't call it.

They are certainly a nice little tool with all your information on it. I would suggest getting some, but again, not leaving them at the scorer's table.

I think it's a bad idea to leave them at the scorer's table. I only give them to other officials and ADs.

I have business cards. I give them to coaches or ADs who ask if I'd be willing to come to their school if they see me in an opponent's gym. I also enclose them in any letters of introduction to ADs. give to a partner if they ask about availability, etc. As for leaving them at the scorebook --- not on your life!
