New Shoes

I'm in need of some new shoes before the season starts. Any suggestions?

I've had the same Nike's for 3 years and the bubble has popped. That doesn't make for a fun time running up and down the court.

All of those shoes seem a bit too flashy for my tastes. These are all good choices, solid black but comfortable.

New Balance 336

New Balance 620

New Balance 621

Nike Air Monarch

Just go to a few sporting goods stores and try them on - because it's purely personal preference.

I'm trying these for the upcoming season: New Balance 610BP

P.S. -- I tried the Air Monarchs last season (based on recommendations from people on the forum) and didn't like them at all. I hate the look of them. And I cracked the upper on a pair at camp after only 4 days!

I'm an Nike Monarch Fan. Not the best looking shoe I ever wore, but very comfortable. New Balance are also very good, but I would NOT recommend anything lower than a 600. Anything lower will prove unsatisfactory night in and out.

PF Flyers? Ugliest damn shoes ever made. Cheap though. We had an AD that just hated 'em; they used to leave black rubber marks on the gym floor.

You can buy 'em again, Mark, believe it or not. Retro rulez!

I think that Chuck Taylor kinda copied the PF design. The PF's preceded the Converse shoes. Both had canvas uppers. The Chucks were much better made with much better quality though.

Our high school only allowed two pair per player per year and high tops were required.

Here's some trivia for you. The "PF" in "PF Flyers" stood for "Posture Foundation".

Yeah - my wife says my head is "a repository of crap". :o
