Funny thing, I was going to include in my post "1957 was a long time ago", but so was 1960 and I wasn't alive to watch Bednarik's last game. :D

I was.

He wasn't the only player going both ways back then, but he got the most publicity because he did it in the playoffs. Back then, the playoffs consisted of one game iirc- the championship game.

The answer is the same as for this question: When will Matt Millen be fired?

A lot of people are on the same page, Chuck.
Yet, I have never seen a game where any general manager misses a tackle or drops a pass.

Yet, the GM hand-selects those players who consistently drop the passes and miss the tackles. In fact, the GM uses first-round draft choices in three consecutive seasons to hand-select those players who consistently drop the passes.

Yeah, but who keeps bringing in the types of players who consistently drop passes and miss tackles? You've gone through coaches, you've gone through QB's, you've had high draft picks every year, yet you have the same result. It's time to look at management. The Lions used to be a fun team to watch back in the 80's & 90's, now they are boring and bad.

Millen needs to go.

Both the Williams boys will be playing very soon. ;)
And it seems to me Millen's second and third picks are historically sound linemen and line backers.

I'll defend your right to feel that way, but if you persist on being personal, You may find yourself on the bench for the rest of the game.

My bad. Sorta like how I say we when talking about the Eagles. Like I'm sitting up in the coordinator's booth or something.

How bout them Iggles!!!

For the last 2 years I've been telling my Cowboy loving friends that they will go nowhere with the "statue" playing QB.

I keep hoping they will get Randy Moss. Can you imagine Moss and Owens on the same team? And it's a team you can't stand? *wakes up*

Ok, I'm going home, dial the number for the pizza delivery, make sure there's at least one cold brownpop in the fridge, set up the recliner, and watch the Bears.

At least there's one good team in Chicago.
