Well, I had to go to my English/Gibberish dictionary, but I think that I figgered out what he's asking....:)

1) Grabbing the ring on a dunk is an automatic "T".

2) If you took 2 steps on your spin move without dribbling, it sounds like you travelled. Can't really tell without seeing it, but I usually take the word of an official who knows the rules over a player who obviously doesn't.

3) If you threw a ball at an official, your azz should be out of that league permanently. You're also lucky that charges weren't laid if you hit him with the ball. That's usually automatic. Not too smart a move.....

4) Um, this is an official's web site, not a players. Most of us could really care less about NJ high school ball, except from an official's standpoint.

Marquise,

First of all welcome to the board. I see you've met our ambassador of goodwill and public relations officer. I assume he has answered your questions satisfactorily.

However, I will take exception with one thing our Jurrasic friend said, and maybe this will help you, maybe it won't.

That is simply an incorrect statement. The truth of the matter is that most of us could not care less. To say it his way gives the impression that some of us may care somewhat. That is misleading.

"However, I will take exception with one thing our Jurrasic friend said, and maybe this will help you, maybe it won't. "

So Ray, as long as we're picking at nits, you should probably spell "Jurassic" correctly. But I know that his patience and warm cordiality will certainly overlook the slight.

I was simply using the Olde English spelling, which he is very familiar with as that's how he spelled it when he was at school. :p

Not to me.

When did it become an automatic T to grab the rim on a dunk?

As soon as I found out that he threw a ball at a referee....

By strict reading of the rule, it is an automatic "T" to grasp the ring except if the grasping was done to prevent an injury.

I aint the sharpest knife in the drawer but AFAIK something can't be automatic if there's an exception.

In that case, the official was wrong. Your opponents should not have been awarded 66 points for the rules violations.

I would also like to add one small observation that my esteemed colleagues have missed so far.
Rather than asking all these refs for their opinions, so that they can poo all over you (they just protect each other), talk to someone who can REALLY help you.
Call 866-437-7445, and you will get all the help you need.
Kind regards
Kiwiref turns around and yells down the chute, "Another one for you, Dr. Phil"
