Smile Basketball Officials Camps

Looking for an Basketball Officials camp in the Michigan, Indiana or Ohio areas. Probably to late for this year. However, still looking for next summer. Want to find one that will help me get ready to officiate college level games, Division 2 and below. If some one has info about one in florida. I could tie it to a vacation.

Thanks

mick - It looks like a good camp, but can I shoot whoever designed the title page? It makes me cross-eyed, and that's not a good quality for an official...

Yeah, M&M.
It's a nasty webpage !

The camp is mandatory for a GLIAC schedule.

That is not a webpage link. It is a link to an HTML translation of a PDF file. The real link is http://www.vspn.com/gliac/MCBOC_2006.pdf

Just a tad easier on the eyes,

Maybe not as easy on the eyes as Jennifer Tilley, but a lot better than the translation file.

Thanks for the link.

I was reading the camp brouchure and noticed that 2 of the gentlemen are supervisors for both the men and women staffs of a collegiate conference. Is that the norm in Michigan? I WI and IL we have seperat men's and women's supervisors. Do your officials work both men's and women's college basketball? We must choose one or the other, rules and mechanics differences.

Anyone going to the big east camp here in Chantilly VA. Barbara JAcobs running this one. It's The USJN tourney. I went to observe Sunday I'm 10 minutes away, just for a flavor, at least 200 NCAA coaches, supervisors from PAtriot, A10, Big East all recruiting, This my first go at a D1 camp.

Wish me luck..

A supervisor of officials, in some cases, gives game contracts and listens to comments from officials and conferences.
In some cases, they may be quite poorly qualified trainers with regard to mechanics and judgement, and their best role in the camp may be making an opening statement, a closing statement and staying outa the way the rest of the time.

During this camp, the men's and women's are aligned with knowledgeable clinicians in their respective areas.
I dunno where the high school officials are stashed. Perhaps they must choose when they show up. Perhaps they are in another place.
