WNBA All-Star Game

Anybody see this? I saw the clips of the end of the game on PTI tonight. Several trips down the court, the defense cleared out and let somebody try to dunk. Only one woman made it, and it was on a second attempt.

Thoughts?

Men usually jump higher than women.

Hmm...maybe she needs to enter the NBA's Slam Dunk competition. It seems to me the last winner (a guy) took about 43 attempts before making it.

Since it doesn't mean anything (unlike baseball! ;) ), I don't have a problem with it, since the outcome of the exhibition, er, I mean, game had already been decided, right?

Once again the women are trying to validate their game by doing something the men do. If their game is great, they do not need to dunk. Everyone keeps saying they are more fundamental, a purer form of basketball. Dunking is not going to gain you more fans. What will gain more fans if you can convince women to support their sport and not relay on the average male fan that sees Women's Basketball as a joke.

Peace

As far as the dunking...I don't know what they're hoping to accomplish. Are fans going to say, "Hey let's go to a WNBA game, I heard there is a player that can dunk when there's no defense".

OF course, maybe they were having fun? Nothing wrong with that. It is still a game after all.

Watched a little of the game, (nothing else on that night) and the game was simply horrible. The West was supposed to have the best team and couldn't even hit a jump shot (kind of looked like the NBA guys)

Watched for five minutes and then came back to see the end and couldn't believe it.

Even the little gals were trying to dunk - ugh!

Stick to basketball - no one really cares if a girl dunks or not because their idea of a dunk is barely forcing the ball in the basket.

To me the girls game can be fun to watch when they are passing and making their shots.

That's my thoughts
Thanks
David
