Correct call??

Team A gets rebound and is breaking back down court, B1 upset about about getting roughed up during the rebound is running beside her source of displeasure well behind the play and gives her a little body check on the way back, not enough to call a flag. foul and not a breakaway sitch but A is in 1 and 1.

Question: would an intentional foul call be appropriate in this sitch, somehow I think this would be the case. Opinions?

It's basically always a judgement call by the calling official.
Contact away from the ball or when not making a legitimate attempt to play the ball, specifically designed to stop or keep the clock from starting, shall be intentional. Intentional fouls may or may not be premeditated and are not based solely on the severity of the act. A foul also shall be ruled intentional if while playing the ball a player causes excessive contact with an opponent.
This is what POE for 2005-2006 was.

Understood, but I don't think her intent was to stop the clock, I think it was to "even the score" unless she even fooled me.

Was the contact was excessive for the situation? Sounds like it. You have the choice of an intentional foul.

I would describe it as unnecessary rather than excessive.
