disqualification
in NFHS can a team use a DQ'd player if they fall to like 2 or 3 players left on the court? how about 4 if they can?
or is this an nba only rule -- where the extra players get a T for each foul. |

When a player is DQ'd, he/she is done. If the team has less than 5 players, they just have to play shorthanded. Z |
thank you for the quick response

Where did this nonsense that a DQ'ed player could continue to play come from?

nba, rule 3, section 1
each team shall consist of 5 players. no team may be reduced to less than 5 players. if a player in the game receives his 6th personal foul and all substitutes have already been dq'd, said player shall remain in the game and shall be charged with a personal and team foul. a technical foul also shall be assessed against his team. all subsequent personal fouls, including offensive fouls, shall be treated similarly.
in a nutshell, personal foul...team foul...technical foul... shoot 1 tech, shoot 1+ penalty (if over the limit), 2 or 3 for shooting, or oob if non-shooting, non-penalty... |
Thanks, jr. I think I heard that somewhere before. . . ;)

The NBA rules also provide that there will Always be 5 players on the floor. If there were so many that fouled out the first one to foul out plays... with additional penalties

Chuck: You know what would be interesting: When was the last time this rule was invoked in either and NBA or WNBA game. MTD, Sr. |
