What's the rulebook say?
An unusual situation.
As A1 is passing the ball to A2. The referee and A2 colide and A2 hits the deck, the ball sails out of bounds. In this instance, the ref gives the ball to Team A on the sidelines because he claimed that the colision was his fault and he didn't want to penalize Team A for his mistake. I didn't have a problem with the call, because it seemed like the fair thing (even to a parent for Team B), but I was curious as to what the rule book had to say about this situation, if anything. I would suspect that the ref is part of the floor and it would be the same as if A2 slipped and fell on her own, but that is total P.F.A. on my part. And since I don't ref, and I don't own a rulebook. I thought I ask you fine people. On a side note, does anyone know if their is an online rulebook that can be accessed for free. On top of being lazy, I'm also cheap...how 'bout that for a combination. ![]() Thanks. |
