Kelley to Direct OVC Men's Basketball Officiating Program
 

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher announced on Wednesday the hiring of Dale Kelley as the OVC Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials. A resident of Huntingdon, Tenn., Kelley will coordinate the recruitment, training and assignment of men’s basketball officials within the Conference.

A 21-year veteran of basketball officiating, Kelley also oversees the officials coalition formed by Conference USA and the Big 12, Southland and Sun Belt Conferences. Kelley, who supervised the former Metro Conference for 10 years, administrates the selection and assignment of officials in the coalition, while also observing and evaluating the referees.

How did he find time to raise his children??? He must have a strong support system in his wife.

21-year veteran - he looks mid-50s(?), so that means he started a bit late; maybe his children were basically grown by then?

Where did you go? I went to Tenn Tech. As best as I can recall, the last year I was there, 1978-79, the football, basketball, and baseball teams combined to win a total of 9 games. What a legacy! :)

Kelley had one of his camps at Tennessee Tech for years. No idea if he still does.

He holds that one at Western Kentucky now AFAIK. One of our semi-regular posters here, who shall remain nameless, was invited to that one. Kelley's also holding camps at Florida International and North Texas this year.

I still go to Eastern Illinois. Our school was down this year if I remember correctly. I only got to attend maybe 2 games this year due to my schedule.
