HELLO,

IM HAROLD FROM PHILIPPINES AND I'M VERY MUCH INTERESTED TO BE A BASKETBALL OFFICIAL. i am currently officiating in our community summer basketball tournament inspite of no formal training and its been 3 yrs since my first call on the court...

I want to be trained and be an accredited memeber of an organization specilly here in the philippines..

Hope u can give me tips and help..

Go to a local school that has a team and ask the coach who officiates his games and how to get in contact with them.

That is good advice. I would add talk to the guys you are working with and also talk with anyone you know who is an official. Officials for the most part have good people skills as you know are needed, and even more most officials are proud of the fact that they are an official, and they will be willing to talk with you about it.

We are all from different areas of the USA. We do not belong to one association or membership group. We are all members of different orgainzations. Those organization have nothing to do with the Philippines.

Also, none of us are from the Philippines. Therefore, we have no knowledge as to exactly what you need to do. That's why we're telling you to contact people in your area. They can best advise you.
