So I got to met Chuck on Friday while I was out east in Springfield... my wife and I went to the Basketball Hall of Fame and then met Chuck for lunch and a nice visit. Contrary to what Jurassic and Dan say, Chuck is a very pleasant individual! And he's not short at all - he's a very nicely average height!!

Seriously, it was great to meet Chuck and we had a nice visit. It's amazing that even tho people live thousands of miles apart, we can have so much in common. The basketball officiating universe really is a small world.

Well, that's what we don't like about Chuck. We hate "pleasant".

And he's the average height of what? Chihuahuas?

How did your games go, Rock?

For those that weren't aware, Mr. Road, esq, was chosen to officiate in the Womens NCAA D3 Final Four in Springfield this weekend.He was flown in all the way from the Left Coast to do so too.

Yea, rocky - how did the games go? Who did you have? Any close ones?

We want details.

And any pictures of Chuck's bridge?

Hey, I saw you in the chat room, but you didn't seem to be around. I'm assuming you made it home safely. Sorry I didn't catch up with you after the game. Lunch was a blast, tho. Next time I'm in Oregon, the soup's on me.

Congrats on the assignment. How is the HOF? Went to the previous building a couple of times and have been by the new one, but haven't attended. I am at the northern edge of I-91 which is about 220 miles north of Springfield. I hope the ABA section is larger than the old one was.

Rockyroad-->

I've met Ben Franson on a number of occasions, and have learned a lot from him. He has been a clinician at some camps I've attended, and is widely recognized as the best women's official in our area. If you are as capable as Bennie is, there's no doubt in my mind that you were completely deserving of your assignment! Congrats!

I only got to work one game - the Consolation game on Saturday. It was fun...two good partners and a pretty easy game to work acyually...it seems that if the team from Texas had won their semi-final, my crew would have worked the Championship game, but since they lost we didn't...not sure I really understood the whole process of how they picked which crew to work which game, but it was still fun...Trigger, Ben is a great guy!

The Hall of Fame was pretty cool - if you're a bball gym rat...not sure my wife enjoyed it as much as I did, but we spent several hours in there, and I could have stayed longer...

Chuck, I looked for you, but there were just a few people around. Did you stay for both games?

No, unfortuanately, my wife needed me to get home. So I ducked in early and ducked out early. The second half didn't seem all that interesting anyway. . .
