Why don't the refs EVER call multiple fouls on Illinois?

I can tell you I have not called a single multiple foul in my career and I do not plan to.

It's noted in the rule book because it's possible according to live-ball/dead-ball definitions.

Consider: An airborne shooter gets fouled on the way up by B1. B2, seeing that the shooter still might make the shot, hits the shooter's arm.
Most of us will pick one, but the rules allow for us to nail them both with the foul.

I don't think it's a bad rule or a bad call. The penalty is not, in my opinion, unduly onerous. It has fallen into total disuse, obviously, a kind of living disgrace.

I had a chance to call it this season - the shooter was perfectly sandwiched - and I passed on it, mostly because it wasn't really my call! We ended up giving the foul to the less important player.

Ok, maybe they don't call multiple fouls, or illegal screens, but they do still call T's against Illinois. Did anyone else see the end of the Air Force/IL game? If so, why did they call the T against IL? I was listening to the game on the radio, but apparently they weren't sure either. Was it a bench T, or was on Weber? Now, if it had happened at the beginning of the game, no one would've seen it, since the stands were empty, but since this happened at a time when all the fans were there, I would hope someone could fill me in.

According to the CBS Sportsline play-by-play, the T was on the head coach. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just pointing that out to show that it wasn't obvious as to why the T was called.

As I said, I was listening to the game on the radio (home team call), but I was watching it on TV. This happened with just under a minute left to play, IL was up by 12 or 13, and had just rebounded an AF miss and was coming up the court when play stopped. My first though was AF had fouled again, but after a little discussion, AF went down and shot the 2 FT's, then the ball was given back to IL in the front court. After a couple of plays, they did show a replay of Dee and one of the other players on the IL bench walking past each other by the corner of the court. I wondered if they gave the T because Dee left the court, or one of the bench players had stood up and took a step out on the court by mistake (IL was putting in the deep subs at the time).

Anyway, just looking for the official reason for the T.

From what the announcers could figure out, it appeared to be a technincal for having too many players on the court.

Maybe their opponents are committing multiple fouls as well. Certainly Illinois does not have a monopoly on that sort of thing.
