Oklahoma gets beaten. And BC and Pacific are tied with 9 seconds left!!! Gonna be a good finish.

Snake~eyes Thu Mar 16, 2006 02:55pm

Holy smokes...
They're taking a while on this 3, I think his foot was on the line.

ChuckElias Thu Mar 16, 2006 02:55pm

2 or 3? Either way, the C was straight-lined. Don't know how he could see it.

Nate1224hoops Thu Mar 16, 2006 02:55pm

BC down by 3 with 3 to go in OT!!

Snake~eyes Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:05pm

BC down by 1 with 4.3 on the clock. BC shooting 1 FT

Snake~eyes Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:06pm

WOW! I thought they were about to count that basket for a second....... GREAT GAME.

OT2.

Dan_ref Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:09pm

There's something wrong with the ESPN scoreboard page.

It says second OT for the BC/Pacific game.

:wtf:

I'm 'watching' the play by play on espn. Looks like BC's pulling ahead...Pacific missed 3 3's in the 2nd OT?

Makes up for the 4 they made in the first OT. :)

Snake~eyes Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:16pm

Its game over now.

M&M Guy Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:17pm

Ahh, I get it - BC was just toyin' with 'em.

Probably due to a directive from the NCAA to take a little extra time before the San Diego regional can start?...

(I saw Miles Brand on the grassy knoll as well.)

ChuckElias Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:28pm

Whew! I got BC in the championship game!

Great travel call at the end of regulation, too. Forgot to mention that one.

Whew is right. I have them in the final four, getting beat by UConn

cford Thu Mar 16, 2006 03:55pm

Did anybody get a good look at the foul on Smith at the end of the first OT? I thought the player was vertical and the offense initiated but they didn't show a replay.

ChuckElias Thu Mar 16, 2006 05:32pm

Oh, an impossible shot by Tennessee with .4 left sends Winthrop home. I took Winthrop. Great game, tho. They played out of their minds.

Montana is about to take out Nevada.

They earned it.

Too bad that they aren't playing #13 Pacific in the 2nd round.

Nevadaref Thu Mar 16, 2006 05:49pm

Alabama 86-85 over Marquette with 54 seconds left.

Go Vols!

This better wake them up or Wichita State will pound them Saturday.

I'm 6-1 through the first "block." Best I've started in a while. Darn Montana!

Even if they ARE awake they will get pounded. I have BC, UConn, Pitt & Duke in the Final 4, but I am hoping like heck that McNamara steals the ball from Redick & hits a 3 at the buzzer to win before it gets that far.

All_Heart Thu Mar 16, 2006 06:35pm

That was very close to being a backcourt violation at the end of the Tennessee game. The Tennessee player rebounded the ball and then tried throwing the ball to his teammate. The ball went in the backcourt and his teammate picked it up.

It would have been tough to determine control and make the call live.

The clock also didn't start when it touched the player with .4 seconds left. The Winthrop player picked it up and shot it. What would have happened if the shot went in? How do you fix this by rule?

TriggerMN Thu Mar 16, 2006 06:48pm

I must confess I took Winthrop as well. Dang! They had plenty of opportunities to win the game, only scored like one bucket in the last 6 minutes or so, and had their tallest player winging up wide open shots from everywhere and not coming close.

I've also got BC in the final four, and I was sweating that out. What in the WORLD is Al Skinner thinking at the end of regulation, giving the ball to Craig Smith to go end-to-end??? Then completely going away from the inside game in the first OT. A couple of late 3's in the first overtime saved them in a game they should have lost.

Ain't gonna happen. Texas A&M made sure of that. McNamara will be sitting at home like the rest of us peons.

Yeah, darn it. Someone else will have to do it.

Iowa just got upset by Nortwestern ST. 64-63

M&M Guy Fri Mar 17, 2006 02:43pm

Northwestern State?!?!

My bracket is now officially shot to hell. But I enjoyed the time on the first page while it lasted...

Me too...had them in the Sweet 16

Raymond Fri Mar 17, 2006 02:59pm

Bucknell over SEC team

Northwestern St over Big Ten champions

Craig Littlepage and crew sure had some nerve trying to get more mid-major teams in the tournament.

Maybe they should be letting more mid-Major ref's in the tournament also.

SeanFitzRef Fri Mar 17, 2006 03:37pm

Is anyone else watching these games live on ncaasports.com/mmod? The best thing they have come up with in a while.

Live streaming of the games as they are playing. Got to see all of the upsets without having to play hooky!! :D

Officiating

The Ohio State game was horribly officiated--one official taking away 3 shooting fouls on obvious continuous motion. I thought I was watching jv's all over again.

Your right! I just registered and I get to watch all the games except the one that is blacked out. I also went back and looked at the Northwestern upset. What a shot, although the players started celebrating a little bit early :)

I also watched the foul at the end of the 1st overtime in the BC game and I'm still wondering what #13 did wrong to earn a foul! If you want to see it click on Buzzer Beater and drag the slider to 26:20. The foul was on #13 but he is just standing there. The only foul I can see is possible on the defender to the right, but the foul was on #13. It's possible he reported the wrong number. We also don't have the angle that he has but if you watch #13 it looks like he does nothing.

Do you know how to change where I'm from so that I can see the blackout game?

SeanFitzRef Fri Mar 17, 2006 04:57pm

I think when you register, you have to go to your profile and change the city/ zip code.
