For anyone who gets this channel, they are showing some of the best NCAA basketball games ever.

I watched a couple of the games that were shown Monday and I noticed that the officials wore collars! Also there were no tenths of a second on the game clock. 1987 and 1989 Finals.

From 7AM to 7PM EST there is a different classic game on every two hours. Set your recorder! This a great opportunity to get a copy of some of these great games. For some of these are from before I started officiating, so I didn't pay much attention to the officials. It is cool to be able to see these contests with a different view now.

Here's the slate:
Tuesday 3/14/06
1. 1996: Georgia vs. Syracuse
2. 1997: Providence/Arizona
3. 1998: Valparaiso/Mississippi
4. 1998: Duke vs. Kentucky
5. 1989: Georgetown/Princeton
6. 2005: Kentucky vs. Michigan State

Wednesday 3/15/06
1. 2002: Indiana/Duke
2. 2003: Arizona/Gonzaga
3. 2004: Connecticut vs. Duke
4. 1997: Colorado vs. North Carolina
5. 2005: Arizona vs. Illinois
6. 2005: Illinois vs. North Carolina

I watched a few minutes of the Chris Webber Time-out game last night. There was a ref in that game who constantly paced back and forth when he was in the slot. Also seemed like the lead would sometimes wander from one-side of the paint to the other. Way, way before my officiate days.

Every time I've turned it on, a Syracuse team has been playing. It broght back memories of having to watch the Orange with Trigger, wearing his Syracuse shorts and a flannel shirt in the middle of Iowa snow storms. They only good part of Syracuse games are zone defenses with....MAN TO MAN PRINCIPLES!!!

I don't remember the Colorado game. Guess I'll have to watch to see why this is classic.

The Illnois game? One of my all time favorites! :D

(At least I get to say the game before, against Arizona, was one of my all-time favorites!)

The game was win number 877 for Dean Smith. That is why it is included. The play itself was nothing special.
