My question is why is someone reffing if she is 5 months pregnet. But I agree that this is way wrong and I hope the law comes down hard on this parent.

5 months isn't that big of a deal. It's a rec game, not the Final Four. What's she supposed to do, sit home, watch soaps and eat bon-bons all day?

Good call, BktBallRef. The strangest thing I learned about women when my girlfriend was pregnant was, that other women even worried about how much time of the day they could spend in an upright position, sitting or walking around. My girl still went to university every day and even wrote a test 2 days before our son was born! And I know some girls, who still played basketball for the first couple of months of their pregnancy.

wow

if you read towards the bottom of the story -- I am shocked --

"her local officials chapter suspended her unborn fetus for 3 games for pushing the assailant back. The unborn fetus was unavaialable for comment but the chapter president was happy to chime in, 'In any situation where an official is threatened of assaulted they are to act proffesional and not escalate any such situation. Our official did a good job of taking her beating like she should have and that is the kind of response that is necessary from all officials we oversee. However her fetus reacting in a negative manner reflects poorly on us as an association and there is no reason for a refree to lay hands on a coach, player or fan.' The fetus however plans to appeal the decision of the local chapter and mom says that the fetus was only reaching for its umbilical cord when its hands struck their assailant."

Wow can you believe this -- what was the fetus thinking? pushing back an assailant. I think they should ban the fetus forever and throw the mom in official prison.

Where was this Official's partner during this malay? The officials in my area always come on the floor together and especially leave together.

This is playing for keeps when a 5-month pregnant referee gets physically attacked.

I would love to see the look on the attacker's face when the BAILIFF shuts the big steel door behind her!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to submit this for understatement of the year:

<b>"Something like that is just uncalled for,"</b>
