Saw it on TV, thought it was handled well.

It's Dookies, mick...poor Dookies. :D

Agreed

I saw it too.

I figured being so close to Bracket time that we'd have about 4 or 5 pages long of fans crying about how they didn't get the ball back after the technical. :)

Anyways, I agree, great job by the officials.

And shame on the time keeper for turning the clock on...

Don't be too hard on the timer. He probably figured that there was no way the officials were going to attempt to finish the contest and was just trying to help them out.

BTW for our conspiracy theorists:
FTs on Feb. 4: FSU 10-11; Duke 31-43
Team Fouls: FSU 28; Duke 15

FTs on Mar. 1: FSU 32-40; Duke 10-17
Team Fouls: FSU 18; Duke 30

That's pretty close to a reversal! ;)

I watched the game and was disappointed in the outcome. However, FSU played it tough and Duke had it's chances. Here's hoping the outcome is better on Saturday.

Here's hoping the Dookies never win another game.....and all their precious little fans flunk out and have to get jobs pumping gas for a TarHeel supporter.

Did I do good, TH? :D

Great game. To bad about the end. God, that kid Redick can shoot it.

All_Heart Thu Mar 02, 2006 09:39am

Straight from the NCAA rule book.

10-5-3 A.R. 9.
Team B leads, 67-66. A1’s two-point try for goal is successful. Two seconds remain on the game clock. Assuming that the successful try was a game-ending and winning goal, bench personnel and fans from Team A go onto the playing court to celebrate.

RULING:
When the celebration causes a delay by preventing the ball from being promptly made live or prevents continuous play, an indirect technical foul shall be assessed to the offending team. Any player from Team B shall attempt the two free throws and play shall resume at the point of interruption. When the celebration does not delay or interfere with play, the celebration shall be ignored.

I hope there was sarcasm intended b/c the las 3 games he has "shot it." When you shoot 30 times and end up with 28 points as he has in the last few games it make you wonder how this guy is supposed to be the best player in the country. I think he shot 10-28 last night and 5-27 agains GT. WOW!! Did anyone else notice that JJ stuck around to shoot the T FT's and then Coach K sent he and the other starters to the locker room. What a joke. Redick and K are all about him scoring. 20 shots by one player is about 8 too many, especially when he was that cold. LOL

I'm not really a Duke or Anti-Duke guy and I wasn't being sarcastic. Redick didn't have a super game but I love the kid's shhoting fundamentals and his soft touch on drives. Plus, I love the way he moves w/o the ball.

Here are his 2005-6 stats:
J. Redick 254-519 48.9% 110-258 42.6% 197-223 88.3%

He was 6-14 last night on 2-pt. field goal attempts. Not stellar but I've seen worse. And 4 for 14 on 3's is OK in my book. Also, he was 6-6 from the line. That's not a "terrible" night for a shooter.
