I have searched and searched and cannot find any rules books online? CAN ANYONE HELP?

For NCAA rules, click on http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/20...ball_rules.pdf

As far as I know, NFHS rules are not on line anywhere for free.

NFHS rules are NOT online for free.
NCAA and NBA rules are online in PDF format.

Which are you looking for?

I was looking for high school rules so that I could start educating my parents and general fans at the high school I teach/coach at.

You're more than welcome to purchase the book. That's what everyone else has to do.

I've got all three books (rules, officials, & case book). I was just wondering if I could refer people to a website to view these books themselves. Thanks.

The NFHS rules & case books are available online, but only to NFHS members - not to the general public. In all honesty they're a pretty tedious read, and unless someone was willing to really take the time & effort to study them in depth, they'd probably cause more confusion than they would alleviate, IMHO. The "simplified & illustrated" version is better, but only available in hard copy, not inline.

What I'd really like to see is NFHS/NASO/ASEP get together and do a "basketball primer for fans". Pick 10 to 15 basic concepts/rules of the game and explain how they work in plain english, then publish it as a PDF and allow it to be freely redistributed. It would need to be an easy read, include simple illustrations where appropriate, and even have a little humor thrown in. Heck, I'd even volunteer my time to help out....

FANS

Hey guys in another post TimTaylor brought up a good point about looking at a few things that fans should know, then publishing it online. I would be willing to help out as I'm sure many others would. I say we start on it. Anybody have suggestions about what we should cover. Remeber the goal of this is to make it simple enough for fans to understand.

So you're going to use only one syllable words? Oh wait - that's the requirement for coaches.

Can always point them to my website :) www.geocities.com/Oz_Referee

I have links to rulebooks and other stuff that fans, parents, players & coaches might find handy.

Cheers
