I will be putting on a clinic on basketball officiating
for newly licensed officials.
All you master minds out there, give me a few
examples on what you would consider a "game interrupter"

thanks

foul on rebounding contact from behind when the inside position gains possession of the rebound easily.

Made basket by team A, everyone heads up court, B1 is not completly OOB while passing the ball in. IMO, you leave this alone unless he's rushing to push the ball up the court. Can usually be handled with a gentle reminder to get all the way OOB.

Slight travels or carries in the wide open court with no D around and no advantage gained.

I think in general, if officials will work to have a patient whistle, they can avoid alot of game interupters.

3-seconds when the ball is near the division line. I know newer officials fall in love with calling 3-seconds. Try and talk them out of the paint.

I worked with a partner once who felt compelled to constantly explain to the caoch what he had called on the previous foul. Scrwed up the whole game
