How do we administer this call (happened last Friday night in V game). A1 is fouled by B1 in act of shooting. After whistle, A1 and B1 shove each other and are assessed double fouls. How do we administer this? The game officials cleared the lane, administered both FT for the shooting foul, and went to alternating possession. We believe it is FTs, then POI, which is continue play after free throw since the POI was after shooting foul was called. Or, is the ball awarded to team in possession at POI (shooting team) after administering FTs?

You go to the POI, which in this case is the FTs. Just assess the two fouls (actually, three, I guess), then line up like you would for any normal shooting foul.

The dead ball fouls would be a double technical if I were calling the game. You report all the fouls and then go to the point of interuption. The game is resumes with A1 shooting FTs and the teams lined up along the lane.

Since the double foul was for actions after the whistle (dead ball), I'm assuming they were T's....
Chuck is correct - no shots on a double foul. POI is the FT's for the original foul by B1 on A1 in act of shooting. |

My understanding
is that the officials DID NOT call technical fouls.

Whether they are personal or technical has no bearing on the administration of the play. You still do it as I said in my first post.
