Referee calls improper technical

It has probably been mentioned in this forum, but I must have missed it...I heard just a blurp on the radio about a college ref (I believe) who called an "improper" technical foul, and was suspended for it....Can somebody give me more details....game situation? I would love to research that issue...thanks, Skarecrow
