Closed Fed Board

Anybody have any inside information on why the NFHS closed its boards down ? The stated reason is along the lines of some people were being abusive towards others.

What else do you need to know? They said it all in their statement. I have noticed the rise of personal attacks on the board over the past few months and finally they have done something about it. I am just surprised this did not happen earlier.

I used to read and post over there a little, but I did notice things got even a little more snippy than here. Too bad, there was some good stuff on there from time to time.

I'm wondering what set this off. I hadn't really seen anything out of line but then, I only read the football and basketball boards, for the most part. I've seen stuff on the baseball board that was pretty rough.

EDIT: I received an email today. They are in the process of getting moderators for the site and hoping to re-open it.

It seemed that they got more traffic from non-officials over there. Just my observation, I have no numbers obviously. If it was officials bickering too much, that must give our governing body a great feeling about its members.

does the NCAA have the same boards anywhere on the net?
