So if we can't penalize if we don't hear the taunting, what can we do if someone says there's taunting going on? Do you ever make an effort to get close to hear it? Say a word to the coach? Or the captain? What?

Tell whomever asks you that you'll look for it. Then look for it. Don't bother telling coaches or captains anything that you're not sure of though. Hearsay is inadmissable.

Rainmaker,
I'll bet you $5 that my Post beats yours in "Views" by the end of the day! And.....I'm giving you a 6 minute head start! |
IN all fairness, had to give juulie a boost back to the top too.

I thought this thread was in response to JCrow's post... http://www.officialforum.com/thread/24476 but I put on my reading glasses & saw I was wrong. |
Uh oh, looks like your count is fading, so I better add something.
Just like anything else, if a player tells you something's happening, tell them you'll keep an eye out for it. Remember, taunting doesn't have to be verbal, so watch for any little signs that it might be happening. |

I'll bring everyone in during a free throw. I won't make accusations, but I'll stress that any problems with be dealt with severely.
And there are exceptions (and exemptions) to the hearsay rule! |
I'd tell them I'll keep my eyes and ears open!

Would that be a dying declaration? Or a mere excited utterance? |
