I apologize for overtaking this thread.

The purpose of "going tableside" is to be able to explain rulings / calls to coaches (if they ask politely). Since you were tableside, you should have responded. If you weren't going to respond, you should have gone away from the table.

So if they don't ask politely I ignore, or give them there 2nd T and ejection. How am I helping the coach? And in which way am I helping the game? He did not ask nicely, and there was a high pitched whine in his voice. This is a veteran coach who new very well what he was doing. Everything he did and said to me, he did for a reason. Going away from tableside would have been the best thing for me to do and the best thing for him. I am not going to give a player an explanation of why they committed a violation or foul, so why do I have to explain that to the coach, who is supposed to be the one who knows better!!? I think it is a ridiculus mechanic to stay at the table. Sure, if you call a player technical, then go tableside and clear it up - those technicals are easy to deal with. The coach is no dummie, he was just wasting my time!!!!!
