I know that this is an old topic but it is new to me. I have read many of the recommendations for on-line assigning of officials but I am looking for an off-line program. Does anyone currently use an off-line program? Any suggestions.

Just a question. Why would you want an offline system? Because it seems like everyone is going online for assignments.

1. Availability at critical times.
2. Email send/acknowledgement is key. REAL high school work forces are a bear to manage.
3. Power - a good offline system can be much more powerful for pure assigning algorithmic use.
4. Web synchronization (contact info, availability, schedules) - 'microwave' speed synch allows you to work offline and converge with a display site. Day-of-game is all email and phone . . .

On the other hand, there are lots of good things about all-web systems.

If you like, test drives of my system can be arranged http://www.assignmentmaker.com

I like the fact that I own the information and am not relying on a system that after I sign up the control is in someone elses hands. Also, I don't like the annual fees.

That's another virtue for the client side
