As many of our seasons are beginning to wind down, I'm interested: What kind of shoes did you wear this year and how did they hold up during the season. I used Nike Air Monarch II's and could not have been happier. Felt absolutely great all year. Just wish they were easier to find. How about ya'll?

I've still got a few weeks as well. I have the Reebox Patent Leather. I liked them very well and they held up well too. No complaints here.

NO PROBLEMS....Great Fit, Support and Comfort! Look good too!

An Indiana 8th grade conference tourney tonight and a hometown freshmen boys game on Thursday night then I'm done. But Jr. High volleyball starts next week and I have lots!

My Reebok didn't hold up so well this year. I purchased them in September and after completing approximately 20 games in Oct (Community Club games)and 20 in Nov I noticed the stiching comming out of the Toe box. By the end of Dec I had to take them in for repair. These are definately the most comfortable shoes I have worn so far even though they came apart. Still have 6 - 8 weeks in the season and High School is just into the tournament season. Gotta Luv this game.

Bob,

I hope your season is ending well! We didn't get the chance to run into each other this year. Hopefully whenever I get back to Robinson in a fews years we can work in MC or somewhere. Again, hope everything is well. Good luck with volleyball!

I've had a great year, though I had to turn away some higher level games because I'd already committed to lower. All but one of the V offers were from schools that are just too far away. I've had offers for games in 2007 and 2008 but it's hard for me to commit that far in advance. It was good, though. Hope yours was, too! Where are you now, anyway?

Keep looking. You'll be glad you found them. And this from a guy who was never a huge Nike fan to begin with.

I'm currently in Charleston right now. I will be in Urbana next year and then hopefully back to Robinson. Time will tell!

I took the liberty of ordering the new
Nike Shox, Leathals
Wow what a shoe feels like you are walking on air.
We all know what they are because most of the teams were wearing them this year. So if you dont mind spending $110.00
on a pair you will love them.

I've worn the Reebok Ref (regular leather) with Sof Sole insole replacements. Everyone should replace their insoles with something designed for your type of foot. OEM shoes don't put enough time and effort into their insoles, especially those brands the majority of us wear. And even if they are decent, chances are they aren't in tune with your foot.

As far as the shoes themselves, they've held up pretty well. They fit OK but I may look for something more comforatable. Nike has always made a comfortable shoe for me, though I've never had good luck with their insole support. Now that I'm using replacement insoles, that isn't a problem.

Incidentally, though its slightly off subject, what are you guys wearing for socks? I can't recommend more strongly the Feetures brand. They make the regular and light version, though the lights don't (I don't believe) come in black. I wear lights (quarter length) as a base layer then the regular black (also quarter since I have on black tights) as the top layer. Some won't need two layers, but I do. Anyway, the socks don't have a toe seam but fit really well due to the forefoot support. I bought a bunch of them (black for reffin' and white for working out) at amazingsocks.com. Check them out.

I always wear "New Balance". I have Barney Rubble feet, really short and XXXXXX wide. Always comfortable and take wear and tear well.
