NFHS. Had a situation I'd never encountered and need help. Rule books not at my disposal and I told coach I'd email the answer.

On offense, ball reach's front court status. While ball is live and in front court - an offensive player moves freely and deliberatly into the backcourt. Player did not touch the ball and after a wide arc around the center circle with defender trailing him regained front court staus and played on.

I passed on a call. Coach swears this is a POE.

GNC(good no call), This is not a POE.

One of last year's POEs was about players leaving the court and deliberately going OOB. There is also (as I'm sure you know) a rule change this year which makes that action a violation.

There is no POE regarding, nor rule prohibiting, players moving from frontcourt to backcourt. The play you describe is perfectly legal (providing no other backcourt violation was committed).

Are you saying a player without the ball went into the backcourt? Player's without the ball can go just about anywhere they want except out of bounds. Oh yea and on the rim.
