I had a boys varsity contest last night with the final score being 21-15. Visiting team stood and held the ball for a total of 16 minutes. Home team refused to come out and defend. Where's the shot clock when you need it?

Good argument for a shot clock. But, that is the ONLY reason for a shot clock and it rarely comes into play. I think I've had one shot clock violation this year in HS ball.

I was doing 3-man last night and we never flexed. Every time I was about to, the shot went up, there was a turnover or a drive to the hoop. Just "one of those games."

Point is, teams don't run much pattern ball anymore. In your case it was pattern to the extreme!

Lower Level Shot Clocks

i think Forksref nailed it. We use the shot clock in California and it pretty much just prevents the Dean Smith offense. Though I do have more violations cause they are lower levels and , well need i say more.

I also do some JR High and they don't have shot clocks and have never seen anyone try and go Dean on us.
