One of the guys who had this game followed me last Friday as he had the varsity tilt. My game was 41-6, but I had nothing on him. |
*YAWN
So did they get paid for reffing that one? Although the pace was slow, I bet the clock went pretty fast!
|
Not fast enough. The losing coach is a former official I am told. They were paid for their pain and suffering. In the old days you could order the team behind to play.
|
Maybe there is a way to reinstall the lack of action rule only in cases where it is actually needed.
|
I wonder if anyone had fun other than the coaches. Not the players. Not the fans. Not the officials.
"Shot clock, shot clock, shot clock!" Z |
Alas, we find the only good reason for a shot clock. About every 5 years we need one.

My question is, why did the better team play along? They almost went to OT b/c they just never bothered to try to score in the 2nd half. That just seems dumb to me.
|
As an official, I would have mixed emotions......
1. Boring. 2. We will get in, get done, and get out a bit quicker tonight. |
50 years from now, I'd imagine those guys from both teams will be still be talking about that 5-2 game. If it had been 78-46, they'll forget it in a heartbeat.
The only good shot clock, is a dead shot clock. |
At this point in the season and when I think about the games coming up, I need a game like this tonight!

Nah, every 35 seconds, turnover.

I seem to recall a link in the last couple of months for a game that ended 7-4. Anyone remember it or have the link?
