We had this discussion at our association last night--- I think we got the blood rule and the injured player rule confused

A1 goes up for a shot and is fouled bt B1. A1 is injured---- coach is asked to come onto the court--- A1 is helped off the court--- coach for A1 asks for a full time out so his injured player can shoot the free throw--- official grants the time out and allows the player to shoot the free throw...

OK I think this was kicked by the official. Injured player has to be replaced before the time out is granted. the injured player shoots the free throws. When time has elapsed the A1 would be allowed back on the court.

During our association meeting--- was told it's just like the blood rule-- full time out buys the player back on the court----
Confirmation or dissagreement will be welcome

Sounds good to me. A timeout will allow him back in if the coach so desires

That is absolutely correct. Isn't someone who is bleeding, injured? There's no requirement that the player be bleeding to use a TO to keep him in the game.

Confirmed, the TO allows the player to stay in the game.

Good thing I kept my mouth shut in the meeting
