I'm wondering about a few things..
1) Can i put my forearm on the player's back/side even if he DOESN'T have the ball? 2) Can i put the palm of my wrist on his back? Like if he's posting up on me, am i allowed to put my palm on his back instead of my forearm? (i don't do that, i'm just curious) 3) I'm guarding someone who's facing me with the ball in his hands down by the floor (not touching it). Can i put the palm of my wrist on him when he makes a move? (could this be a pushing/reaching in foul?) These came up in some of my games (1 on 1 and 2 on 2 outside). We didn't call anything cuz we didn't really know if it's legal or not. Thanks in advance |
ok, I'll bite...
1. legal, just don't extend your arm or add you knee/thigh with the forearm.
2. same as #1
3. if you impede his movement, it's a handcheck
some of your scenarios were a little "different",but I tried to give you my best answers. I'm sure others will add some info too. good luck... |
thanks a lot!!!

Maybe you can also help with ilya's "confidence" post. I'm sure he'll appreciate your insight. [Edited by BigDave on May 21st, 2001 at 02:35 AM] |
ilya-
Just remember! That one official may allow a little more, or a little less(hands, forearm, knees, etc.) depending on his/her interpretation of how much advantage/disadvantage you as the defender are gaining! |
