New on the Forum:

I'm a official here in Germany for military basketball. The question over the past two season has come up about time out positioning of official.

The official who signal/awards the time out. Do he administer the throw in at the nearest spot to where the ball will be put back in play? Is this correct?

Thanks,

Thanks,

No. The TO (generally) does not result in any switch or rotation amongst officials. They go back to the spot they were before.

for example: if you are the lead (under the basket) and team A has the ball is in front of you and the coach from Team A calls for a time out and your parnter grants his/her request, during the time out you would stay at the spot and your partner would take care of the time out, you would take the ball out under A's basket when time out is over. So you would stay lead, and your partner would still be trail.
