Does anyone know why the PIAA doesn't offer training prior to taking the exam? I registered to train as an IAABO official in NJ but moved to PA prior to taking classes. Now I'm in PA, PA doesn't recognize IAABO as the governing body for basketball. Does anyone know why?

I take the exam on Monday and would feel a lot more comfortable if I had training. Passing the exam is one thing. Putting mechanics into action is another.

Thanks for any positive input...

Sorry. I don't know why. But here is how it went for me.
I picked up the books at the PIAA office along with a practice test and this input...
1. Read the entire book
2. Read it again

I took the practice test once without reading it - just going off what I "knew." Ha Ha. Would have failed.

I took it again after reading and did substantially better. I did fine on the actual test as well.

Then, once I signed up with the local chapter (which you have to do), I got summer league games and scrimmages before the season. So, I'd contact someone in your chapter and ask about scrimmages and work on mechanics there.

The PIAA leaves it up to each chapter whether they want training or not. That's about as good an answer as I can give.
