Fall ball. It's the life. During August, I always forget how good it feels to run up and down the court, and blow the whistle. And then, I'm back out there trying to figure out if there are more games for me tomorrow.

I love this game!

It'll be at least a couple weeks for me. Debi is working my butt off at volleyball - 2 to 3 matches during the week plus a tournament every weekend so far........

Can "working my butt off" and "volleyball" be used in the same sentence, when one is talking about officiating?

My Daughter is a middle hitter. At her last match I had to keep moving to see alot of her activity. I would have had to do that if the official had done a better job of working her butt off. That was not easy to see around.

Wow, Chris. I wouldn't touch that one with a. ...

The refs in volleyball don't get much exercise, but a tournament can run to 12 hours and it often happens for a ref to be standing the whole time. It's not good healthful exercise, but it's exhausting!

I love the game of volleyball and I love to see my kid play. I've been asked to start working volleyball but just don't think I could stand in one place like that. My knees would really hurt.

I've been doing a lot of stretching and bending during the matches, and I'm surprised how much difference it has made. I do the little things, nothing obvious, and not while the ball is in play. The last tournament I did, I ended up with 0 sore spots or cramps by 6 pm. Started at 8 am. I suppose it's a similar idea to the one of stretching while riding in an airplane.
