Just wondering how our young friend in Louisiana is doing? :(

ref18 Fri Sep 02, 2005 12:47am

I've heard from him. He's OK.

BktBallRef Fri Sep 02, 2005 08:06am

Haven't seen him on. I Normally see him on IM pnce a week or so. Is he in hardest hit areas?

I'm not sure where he is usually, but I know he fled before the storm hit, to somewhere safe, but he doesn't have access to a computer.

ref18 Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:47am

He's been on the MSN messenger a few times since the storm was over, and that's where I talked to him.

brandan89 Fri Sep 02, 2005 03:42pm

First of all, I want to thank everyone for your concerns. I am really sorry that I did not come and post earlier, but, I have been really busy with school, and recently, I got a job at McDonalds.

About the stormÂ… Luckily, my home town JUST missed the worst part of the storm. We did leave, and when we returned home, our porch was demolished as well as some of the roof on our trailer. Nothing Major.

Having that said, where they storm DID hit (New Orleans) about 50 miles away, they have people shooting and killing people to get out of there as well as for food. It is getting crazy. Continue to pray for LA, MS, and Alabama.

Thanks again.

Brandan

JRutledge Fri Sep 02, 2005 04:20pm

I am very happy you are OK.

Now you know you can make more money officiating than you can while working at McDonald's. :D

Peace

tjones1 Fri Sep 02, 2005 04:25pm

Glad to hear you're OK. Hopefully things can get restored back to order as soon as possible.

refnrev Sat Sep 03, 2005 08:27pm

brandan, glad you're ok. Hope the damage to your home is taken care of soon. Hang in there. We're all in your corner! Hopefully, everyone is praying for everyone on the gulf coast. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for them!

McDonalds got rid of the Super Size cause America was getting too fat and the thought it was their fault. I can't remember when exactly they did away with it, but I've lost over 50 lbs since last October, so maybe it WAS their fault.

BktBallRef Mon Sep 05, 2005 08:36pm

Who are you and why are you here, W&S?

WhistlesAndStripes Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:26pm

My name's Joe, and I joined the football board a couple months ago, and now ventured over to basketball since the season's just a couple months off.

I'm in St. Mary Parish.

refnrev Thu Sep 08, 2005 09:47pm

It's an official Brandan sighting! How are you doing? What are you doing? Where is St. Mary's parish? I graduated from Centenary in Shreveport many moons ago. That would be Caddo Parish I think.

ace Thu Sep 08, 2005 09:50pm

St. Mary Parish is in the Atchafalaya Basin. Home of the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleoum Festival... Southeast of laffayette on Hwy 90 or future 49.

I grew up in Morgan City/Berwick before moving to Houston 3 years ago. Funny how I lived like right down the highway from Brandon.

How am I doing-- I am doing great, thanks for asking.

What am I doing -- I am sitting here studying for 3 test I have tomorrow. One is in Geometry, and the other two are in Civics. When I get finish doing that, I will finish writing my 3 page proof for Geometry.

Yes, Shreveport is in Caddo Parish which is in North Louisiana, I am in South Louisiana. However, I go there all the time to visit my grandmother.

Speaking of the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleoum Festival, that was supposed to be last week. Due to Katrina, it is rescheduled to October 8.

Ok, for all us ignorant northerners, are the shrimp cooked in the petroleum, or do you dip them in afterwards? Are there different flavors of petroleum, like mild and hot? Or just leaded and unleaded?

:D

Sorry Brandan, couldn't resist. Glad to hear you're doing (relatively) fine.

Shouldn't "from" be replaced by "because of"?

They aren't related, y'know.

Now, mick, what plant does Crisco come from?

Hey, all I knew was it looks suspiciously like that paste I used in grade school. And I don't think it changes much between when you eat it and when the doctor scrapes it off the sides of your heart. So it wouldn't surprise me if it was a petroleum by-product.

refnrev Fri Sep 09, 2005 06:58pm

So Brandan, did you pass your three tests? Inquiring minds want to know!

The school paste was mint flavored.

Speaking of Crisco:

This short guy went to the doctor and asked his Doc if there was anything he could do to get taller. Doc told him to cover his body with grease every night and then sleep hanging upside down from the monkey bars. So dude goes home, and every night covers himself in Crisco before going to sleep hanging from the monke bars. Does this for 2 months straight, measures himself, and he's 2 inches shorter then when he started.

GOes back to the doc. Tells doc it ain't working. Doc asks him what he's using. Dude says Crisco. Doc says, "No wonder it ain't working. That's SHORTening!!!"
