The NFHS release the new signal chart (8/1/05) on their web site and the leaving the court violation was not specifically listed.

I guess we will signal a violation with an open hand and point to a spot - at least that is what I am planning to do with further instruction.

In Utah we have a universal signal that covers all cases where another person has moved to occupy a position we really wish they hadn't. It's actually a common signal drivers flash to each other. It's quick, it's easy, and it's only one finger. :D

There is also no signal for a TEAM control foul.

There is still no signal for a flagrant foul.

In fact, I don't see any change to the chart at all this season. Adding kick signal seems to be the last change that was made.

I believe the NFHS mechanic for the tCF (from what I've read here) is the raised fist, signal the foul, and to indicate direction and a spot throw in. Personally, I'd like to see NFHS adopt the NCAA-W signal.

I also think the flagrant foul signal is similar to the intentional foul, with whatever your local ejection signal/protocal may be.

Sure there is...foul type and point direction. If that's not a signal, I don't know what is. Sure, it's not a 1 part signal but we have a specified way to signal it...maybe not the best, but there is a signal.

[/B][/QUOTE]Intentional fouls and flagrant fouls are completely different animals. Giving the "intentional foul signal" as part of a flagrant foul call would just confuse everybody in the gym, including your partners. I'd forget about ever using that one. Not really a good idea imo.

in FIBA the Flagrant is called unsportsmanlike and is the same as an intentional :P and I don't think I'll ever et the ahng on the NFHS signs, I prefer FIBA (even though we need a few more)

nfhs.org
click on "Sport & Rules Information" on left hand side
click on "basketball" in the middle of the page
in the middle of that page are two columns. In the left column click on "Basketball Signal Chart". This left column are different NFHS announcements. This is just one of them.
