Anyone using the new "Dolfin" whistle that's being advertised by Purchase Officials?
If so.....how do they compare with the popular "FOX" brands? |
I'm certainly not. Have you seen a picture of it? It just wouldn't look right on a lanyard.

And here's the link to the homepage of the company that makes the whistle: http://www.newitts.com/product/OS-22...ic_whistle.htm |
I saw and heard one first hand last month when I officiated an AAU boys' national tournament game with Larry "Torch" Torchia. Torch is owner of Torch's Referee & Umpires Supplies (http://www.OfficialsSupplies.com). He is Joe DeRosa's (Purchas Officials) distributer in the Southeast.
Yes, they long funky but I received three in the mail from Torch last week and was going to use them in the girls' season this fall in Michigan, but I am currently on crutches due to a stress fracture in my right foot which I guess started in the last week of July while officiating in Florida. I guess I will have to wait until the boys' winter season now to try them. They really don't look that goofy on a lanyard. MTD, Sr. |

Not bad.
Six minutes. You still got it. PS- ever heard of a "flipper job"? PPS- We just put another thread in the ol' dumper, didn't we? |
Although it looks different is isn't extremely noticeable. The sound is a little different but still OK. The number #1 official at the ACC camp in Indianapolis used a Dolphin this year. It didn't hurt him. :D
