Someone mentioned they had purchased NASO 3 man coverage book a while back. Is it all that much better than the NFHS manual? I'd like some feedback before I order it. Thanks in advance.

The NFHS publication is the official mechanics book for high school basketball. Similarly, the NCAA has their own mechanics book too.

The NASO book isn't an "official" book in either case.

'Nuff said.

Jurassic,
Thus I conclude that you see it as no better than the NFHS manual, correct?

If you are talking about the "Basketball 3 Person Guidebook," I was the person that talked about his several weeks ago.

I like the book because most of what is covered is not covered any other place. I agree that the information is not necessarily "officials," but the information covers many things you will never see in any publication about 3 Person. It breaks plays down into great detail and addresses issues you might only see at a camp. Even at a camp you will not learn a lot of things unless you experience them personally. I like the book a lot and would recommend it officials very experienced to the brand new. Nothing is wrong with more information. There are things in there I have not been taught to do, but that is OK because it is no different when I go to camp. I might work on one court be told one thing, go to another court and hear something different. This is just apart of working basketball.

Peace

So you think it could be valuable to someone who has worked 3-person already and that it does contain much more and valuable information when compared to the regular mechanics manual?

This has to be a record.

It is a good book. I purchased it and it is helpful.

The book is a great reference. The "MechaniGrams" and "Tips" provide an additional perspective that you can't get out of the NFHS Manual.

I use it as a supplement to the NFHS material.....my partner and I are NASO members and we purchased the books using our discount!

A must have in your "reference" library!

I like this book as well. More information than you can find in any other NF publication. Also many of the tips apply to other mechanics sets. I like the book and would recommend it to anyone.
