In a recent high school game an athletic director came to me and sked how long could the net on the basketball hoop be? I told him there was no restriction on length just on how the ball passes througth the net. Am I correct?

Mike,
look up NF rule book page 11 section 10 Art,1 "white-cord 12-mesh net, 15 to 18 inches in length, suspended from beneath the ring".
