I know how much each of you look forward to my analysis, so I thought I'd start the thread early! :D

BktBallRef Thu Jun 16, 2005 08:23pm

Wow! Less than 5 minutes in, first T!!

26 Year Gap Thu Jun 16, 2005 09:02pm

SA has 10 turnovers. Det has none. But it must be the officials making the difference here.

JugglingReferee Thu Jun 16, 2005 09:22pm

That was a block? WOW!

canuckrefguy Thu Jun 16, 2005 09:43pm

The replay they showed made it look like a textbook charge - Hubie Brown noted Wallace "must have been moving" - sure doesn't look like it from the angle they showed. Wow.

BktBallRef Thu Jun 16, 2005 09:51pm

Ginoboli drove and went airborne. Wallace moved to his right after Manu left the floor and was moving when contact was made. A definite block.

JugglingReferee Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:02pm

I still want to see it again.

Dribble Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:11pm

I saw a block at full speed and on the replay, too. Good call, BktBallRef! hehe...'cause it's the same as mine!

Speaking of recording... I need to record 3 hours of HD at least 21 times during the summer. Does anyone know of a good PC capture card that will do HD?

4:26 left in the 4th quater, what was up with that jump ball? Left the room came in while they were jumping.

What happen for them to have to do that?

BktBallRef Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:49pm

A held ball. You know, when two opposing players both grab the ball at the same time. ;)

Ok, I set my self up for that one. What I should have said was; what caused them to do another tip-off with 4:26 seconds left in the 4th quater. It didnt even take place in the center circle.

BktBallRef Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:54pm

It was a held ball that was nearer to the FT circle than the center circle. You jump it in the closest circle.

Goes to show you how much NBA I watch. :-p

BktBallRef Thu Jun 16, 2005 11:01pm

Lots of things, both good and bad, that you can learn from the NBA. You just have to have the discernment to know the difference.

I didn't start watching until the 2nd qtr. Who got pinned, for what, and by whom?

On another note, I can't believe that there are people out there that are actually disgusted with the officiating in this series. Mike and Mike (ESPN Radio) this morning were talking about how there are players, coaches, columnists, etc. that are upset that the crews are supposedly calling a tighter game in SA (favoring the Spurs) and a looser game in Detroit (favoring the Pistons). I'm sorry, but when the avg. margin of victory is 16 points, the officials should be the last excuse made by the losing team, fans, columnists, and the like. :o

BktBallRef Fri Jun 17, 2005 10:10am

Eddie Rush popped Popovich in the 1st quarter when he popped off the bench and popped off at him. :)

There you go, being objective again. When will you ever learn...
