I know Michigan has liability insurance for officials, is NASO that much different or better?
NASO insurance covers you for any game. Many states insurance programs only cover you for scholastic games. For me NASO is my primary coverage for college and recreational games while it is my secondary on HS games.

Exactly, I am in the same boat as ocreferee.

NASO covers you up to 3 million dollars.

I suggest you have a look at <A HREF=http://www.nfhs.org/ScriptContent/VA_Custom/vimdisplays/contentpagedisplay.cfm?content_id=19>NFHS Insurance Benefits</A>

You might still prefer NASO insurance but the NFHS insurance covers a lot more than regular season school games. "Coverage is not limited to high school activities. It also applies to officiating activities for independent youth or recreational leagues..."

Speaking about all of this insurance...

Has any one of you ever had to use your official insurance from something that happened in the game? Just curious.
