Hey there. I'm a new referee in the ATL area and originally from Baton Rouge, LA. Just wanted to say hello to all members. Already the info I've read throughout the posts has been very helpful. Hope all camps go well for everyone. Later.

Did you receive a copy of the rules of posting? Here are some of the more important ones:

1) no French
2) pictures of refs in fishnets are always welcome
3) there are certain questions that carry a $5 fine
4) Billy Packer is always wrong
5) I am always right

Welcome. Just follow the rules and you'll have a great time.

Oh yeah - be sure to ask which is more important - rules knowledge or court presence. Everyone likes that one.

Don't forget the taboo topics
1) Belts
2) Patent Leather
3) What to do when you incorrectly chop the clock when A1 throwing the ball in passes to A2(who is also out of bounds) after a made basket.
4) What to do when B6 comes off the bench and "goaltends" a game winning shot.

All punchlines must be preceeded by . . . .wait for it. . . .wait for it!

Hey egham3, what do they prefer to wear down in the land of Bobby Buchette, pleated and no belt, pleated with belt, no pleats and no belt or no pleats a belt?

Just kidding, don't answer it. I was thinking the same thing as Snake~Eyes.

And complaining about the OC's shipping costs is heard about every week!! ;)

(We skip a few weeks sometimes)

I hear Mr. Grammar Guy and Mr. Spelling Guy are coming! :D

egham3 - Welcome! Now are you a ref, new to Atlanta, or are you a new ref, also new to Atlanta?

I "claim" I know the answer to this question too:

Even though, in appearance, he is a new member to this forum, this forum, in fact, just gets to enter his personal life. So people in this forum are actually new members to his own world.

Is this correct? How am I doing in answering this question? :)

Thanks.

Mark -- you forgot the most important rule of all. Case plays that occur near the ends of close games and involve the clock starting or not starting incorrectly have to start with the clock at 3.6 sec, or 2.8 sec.

And...

A hearty welcome from the coaches who post on this forum too! Oh, by the way, you really blew that call! No way that's a foul! Sheesh! ;)

(sneaks back to the bench in an effort to avoid getting T'd) :D
